    are there bubbles in the cider at surface?, if there is sounds like an air leak round the bubbler area.

    alarm bells should be ringing, 6 litres plus 20.5 litres, 26.5 litres volume? 6 pints is just a bit over. we dont want thin beer. :)

    My work pal has brought me a bottle of his first brew! He has gone full bore, its a in brown glass bottle with a proper cap! Im still on 2L pet and grolsch bottles! :D But im comfortable with Ghetto at present, substance over style. :D

    half a crushed campden tablet to your 23.5 Litres of water, was the tip i got from here which has been a god send. the second tip is wait,( it will mellow) get another brew on the go. I am drinking some Edme Lager i bottled in May this year, what an improvement 4 months makes. Gonna try my best...

    Coopers European Lager

    In the West country ( other parts of the world are available ). They just squash apples and dont add anything else!! And most of the fellas on that gear get well wobbly. Hugh Furry Whitingstall ( or summat ) did too! :drink:

    Total homebrew virgin. - Turbo Cider

    The last batch i made, i added a bit of sugar as og seemed low, but the main difference is i used Nottingham yeast, to try to lose that 'winey' nose. Only poblem i had is it seems to have dropped nearly all the yeast so its not very fizzy on the secondary ferment, but it tastes the bomb. :drink:

    As im not concerned with the alcohol strength of my beer, only the taste and looks, i have stopped checking og and final sg, and only check the sg when i think its time to bottle ( 7 or 10 days, bit longer for cold weather).     thanks chaps. We had a great time, the kids got to have a good splash in the paddling pool, just as they were getting a bit blue in hue, they came in. Then the rain started, worked out well cos mi veg needed a good soaking :thumb: .

    They were superb in Brum on Saturday, brutal and tight. Loved the new stuff, World painted blood, set the standard and plowed on Regardless. Angel of death, Raining blood,are just class. :twisted: :twisted: :party:
