I wouldnt even use VWP anymore.
Get your self some cheap baby bottle steriliser from Adsa, Tesco or Morrisons.....its all the same stuff and works out at 80p per 1200ml. Best way to go if you ask me, been using it for around 2 years now and dont even let the solution soak for long.
:)
Not really tried to make a clone version of a beer, so I thought I would give this one a shot.
Ingredients:

Amount Item Type % or IBU
3.64 kg Pale Malt (2 Row) UK (3.0 SRM) Grain 95.2...
Tried the test twice and i seem to have a very very low alkalinity.
Came out at 5mg/l for Stirling, Scotland water.
Anyone have any tips for me?
Clearly I need to increase this by 25mg/l for light ales and I understand I would add Gypsum.
Can i add this in stages?
Meaning an amount to the mash water then an amount to the sparge water?
Its just I dont have a large enough bucket to treat the whole brew water.
Got the kegs last week, so i have fizzy water in one to play about with. LOL! Had to try them out you see.
I have a batch of Ale on the go just now....i like making a lager style beer using Nottingham yeast and loads of Saaz hops. Always turns out nice.
I use dried yeast and was thinking of taking the next step and using liquid yeast.
How many times do you think you would be able to split the yeast before its quality reduces?
The dimensions of the fridge were 25cm in height and approx (i think) 21cm in length. The cornies just didnt fully fit so i had to remove some of the foam insulation.
Actually we can blame Vossy for this.....after seeing his pics, got me thinking!! ;)
Cheers Vossy!
