Best Beer Kits you have brewed

My top 5 would be Wilko Golden Ale + beer enhancer Festival Razorback IPA Milestone Black Pearl Irish Stout Brewferm Tarwebier + Cascade Bulldog Rajas Reward IPA I wouldn't say they were in order of preference, as they are all very good kits but the favourites of the 12 kits i have done to...

Nearly 2 Years and 40 kits my verdict.....a surprise winner

I have this kit languishing behind a Wherry and a Golden stag, bought it because it would have been criminal not to(£5) in a recent Wilko sale, you have rekindled my interest Dollop. :hat:

help me find this beer please

The hop additions in Festival Razorback IPA are Centennial, simcoe and summit and they certainly do give it a grapefruity kick which does settle back after a couple of months conditioning :hat:

A simple kit to start with?

The Brewferm Wheat kit is six weeks conditioning so while a good kit and would definitely recommend, not the quickest. I would say give a Wilco Golden ale kit a whirl, cheap two can kit, easy as they come to make with excellent results :hat:

    Cheapest place to buy Starsan?

It will work out cheaper, I only bought this stuff as I was looking for something other than VWP and it was in the LHBS, so I thought i'd give it a try. It did the job but i will be investing in some Starsan in the future at some point. :hat:

    Using candi

When i use it I place it in a pan of boiling water and let it dissolve, it is not that easy to get it to dissolve though  :hat: Which Brewferm kit are you doing? because in the notes at the end of the instructions it tells you to use an extra 5% if using Candi sugar on the kits I...

    Using candi

Have you got any pics of it because I usually buy it from the LHBS, it looks like a bag of uncut diamonds which i normally dissolve in hot water before adding to my FV. :hat:

    Cheapest place to buy Starsan?

I had the same problem and whilst VWP is very good it is a pain to rinse over and over, so for my last bottling session I invested in a bottle rinser and while at the LHBS - Morley home brew, picked up some no rinse sanitiser called Brew Safe it looks like VWP but doesn't leave you gasping for...

    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Evening Chaps, I bottled this last friday (24th) after about 26 days in the FV it finally got down to fg 1010, I batched primed with 103g of brewing sugar and came out with 39 x500ml bottle + a carbonation bottle. It would have been 40 but the neck collapsed on one of blighters while capping...

    Brew kit recommendations

I agree with b4dg3r on the Brewferm kits they are very good, I have done several with my favourite being Tarwebier which is probably close to what you are looking for, also the Grand Cru is a lovely kit it's a Belgian style beer and quite strong at nearly 8%. The only drawbacks with the Brewferm...

Braumeister beer vs 3 vessel beer

Well lets hope so Bob, but strangely enough I popped into my LHBS for a bottle washer and got chatting with the owner and low and behold what does he have in the back of the shop......... A 50L Speidel Braumeister and what an impressive piece of kit it is too. He has used both systems and says...

Braumeister beer vs 3 vessel beer

Evening Chaps, I have been mulling over moving on from kits to AG brewing at some point hopefully in the not too distant future, after getting the nod from the Fragrant lady wife. The Speidel Braumeister caught my eye as I love a gadget and was wondering if anybody has or had both systems and...

    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Evening Chaps, I got this kit back in November and finally got around to getting it going on 30/12/13, as after the Christmas hilarities the Monte Cristo beer cellar seemed some what depleted. All went well, used bottled water, yeast pitched in at 20c, SG 1044, it's now been sitting in my water...
