    Dead Stout!

Yes the sg was 1040 as the instructions suggested, I was just under the impression that stout kits went like the clappers fermentation wise!

    Which Bewferm?

Take a hammer to the piggy bank, throw caution to the wind and do them all!! That said I have a double grand cru (18Litres ) in a secondary FV at the moment and it tasted pretty good when i syphoned it off it will be about 7.8% when done I think - Bottling sunday then putting away for the...

    Dead Stout!

Evening Chaps, I think i may have a slight problem with my stout. It is a Milestone Black pearl Irish stout 2 can kit, I made it following the enclosed instructions and followed them to the letter. The yeast was pitched in at 22c as per instructions and i have had the FV sitting in a water bath...

    Better Brew Export Lager review

This was my first experience at home brewing so I don't have anything to compare it to at the moment but here goes! I did the kit as the instructions with a 1kg of brewing sugar, I didn't take the sg as I didnt have a hydrometer at the time. It said 10 days on the package but mine took around...

    J W Lees Bitter

As I seem to be stockpiling a sizeable hoard and not wanting to stop the brewing while I and the good lady wife catch up, my thoughts have turned to doing a brew for my father. He confessed to being rather partial to 'JW Lees bitter' and just wondered if any of you learned chaps know of any kits...

    Double brew

Well, third brew on the go now, I have gone for a brewferm Grand Cru as i heard it is quite like Leffe Blonde. I haven't got a small FV so decide to double up and do 18L with two kits, it's supposed to be around 8% when ready! so hope it's good because i'm going to put it in small bottles and...

    Home brew shop near Huddersfield

The Morley Home brew shop is very good, just relieved him of a few kits myself this afternoon, plenty of choice, good advice and a friendly chap. There is one at Tong street Bradford - Taylors Home brew, but as a newbie to the home brew scene i preferred the Morley shop for above reasons.

    Brewferm Tarwebier priming sugar

Thanks, all this is new to me so you may have to excuse the odd daft question. It doesn't say what sort of sugar to use in the instructions other than the candi sugar, so will get the tate & lyle ready, just need some more bottles now!

    Brewferm Tarwebier priming sugar

Hi All, Have a Brewferm Tarwebier in the secondary FV for a week or two, just wondered if anybody else has done this kits and what they used to prime it before bottling? I used candi sugar when i made it not sure if I'm supposed to use this to prime it?

    My first Brew

Hi Chaps thanks for the tips, have gone for the syphoning into the secondary FV and I'm going to leave it 2 weeks as i'm going on holiday next week anyway, have also bought a little bottler - what good idea! Might have a go at a stout when i get back, quite like the look of the Milestone Black...

    My first Brew

Bottled my first ever brew on Monday a Better brew export lager, I've had it in the boiler cupboard since and i think it has carbonated up nicely. I put some in a plastic bottle and it is now quite firm so hopefully i have done it right. I have a Brewferm Tarwebier in the Fv at the moment...
