Brewing a Hefeweizen with my Speidel Braumeister

I'm interested in the mods that you have made - where did you obtain the hop filter from and what is the black stuff around your top malt tube filter?

    AG#9 Hopback Old Master

Well its a good day outside, so i decided to stay in and brewup a recipe kit i wanted to try from a commercial non-sponsor of this site. I dont think i can post the recipe as it comes from a commercial brewery that still exists - but im sure you can find it in a certain book 8-) It includes;-...

    Speidel Braumeister?

I think it should be free issued to current owners. They havent got it totally right, draining tap clogs easily, the pump has no filters, the top grain pipe filter needs a rubber seal to keep the grain in the pipe with low volume grain bills, the lid causes overboil, the vents on the lids direct...

    Benefits of Stainless set up?

What he said! I have the most expensive shiney in a such a compact size i am ever likely to own or need, until i get ambitions beyond my payscale and setup a micro brewery...oh shiney ;) ! But i digress, the kit i have will outlast me and help me develop more controlled brews in future.

I moved all my brewing kit to the bathroom, its a small bathroom and the closest place in the flat - turned the heating off, but now the temperature is getting lower im getting evicted to the kitchen. The Braumeister is now in the bedroom under a cover  I still have all of my 50ltr setup...

    L.H.B.S

Most LHBS have to go thru suppliers that insist on minimum order quantites, e.g. if you want to buy Malt you need to buy direct from the Maltsters and they expect by the Ton! If you cannot afford that, then you have to go thru a middle man and buy less, but pay more for it! Not much of a markup...

    BOC home accounts

Just got off the phone with their sales in the Midlands, apparently a company decision was made that they will not be supplying new accounts to people who want to use them at home WITHOUT purchasing/installing/renting one of their CO2 Monitors - these monitors can be rented for £19 a month or...

    AG#8 Wherry'ish Bitter

Hopefully with all the secrets that have been divulged i should manage something close to the real thing, its better now that my Braumeister can maintain constant mash temps etc. As an Engineer i need accuracy in my job as its important to control variation, the hit and miss i had with the...
