    Pumpkins

My recipe didn't really indicate the maturing time but I have read elsewhere up to two years. As for the flesh I used all the solid bits behind the skin and scooped out most if the seeds and mushy bits as I could. Mine has been in a week now and it's just about ready to be strained into a DJ -...

    Bottling Wine With Screw Tops

I've not tried these as yet. Do these really give a good seal, i.e. can you lay the bottle down with no leakage?

First WOW and First Rhubarb and First Peach

Are you not adding any grape juice to these tinned peach brews? On another forum, I was advised to pop in either a tin of WGC or 1ltr WJC and and full of sultanas. I haven't tried it as yet, but does your grape-juice-free recipe have enough body, do you think?

    Airlock activity after stabilizing

I'm no expert, but could it be just the excess CO2 still escaping?

    Wilko own brand wine

Right, looks like its a "bottle and forget" wine then. I'll pop it away somewhere for 6 months and hope for the best.

    Wilko own brand wine

Out of interest which kit did you opt for? I have one of these fermenting at the moment, but its a Cabernet Sauvingnon, so I'm a little worried now. Not that I expected miracles for £8/kit....

    Strong coffee wine

Just had a look to try this one myself. Would you use a high alcohol yeast, or is that not really necessary? Also, feeding the fermentation with sugar is worrying me slightly, in that I don't really know how to do this - is it just a case of mixing 100g of sugar into a little water and dumping...

    Wilkinsons Cab Sau starter kit

I take it from your username that you're a Bond fan? I am too and really looking forward to Skyfall! :D

    Wilkinsons Cab Sau starter kit

Hi I've got one of these on the go at the moment - just the kit though as I already had the equipment at home. Its been on a week now with no signs of a slowing in fermentation, so the timings in the instructions are most definitely optimistic! I'd be interested in your thoughts on how the...

    Wine Homebrew Logging Software

Hi I've just downloaded this and had a little play. So far, really impressed, just what I was looking for and a lot easier than keeping paper notes all over the place. So thanks! Just going back to a point raised above regarding showing nil sugar content once ingredients are input; I had the...

    Hi All!

I've just registered here so thought I'd pop in here and say hi to everyone. I've been making wine for about a year, so still very inexperienced but very keen to learn. Most of my brews have been the WOW-type wines, a couple of kits and a ginger (which is a particular favourite of mine).
