    New buffalo hole

Still have not changed it yet but upon inspection it looks like I will have to cut a new hole for an nice fitting but seems simple enough. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. The tap itself is very easy to remove. Cheers

My Tripel and Safale Abbaye yeast

Thanks for your responses guy's. My Qul, that is what I was getting from both of those calculators too, thats why it confused me as the packet says the yeast is good upto 11% abv and one11.5g packet for 20 - 30 ltr wort but I thought it couldnt be right. Dad_of_jon I'm doing 21 litres in a 30...

My Tripel and Safale Abbaye yeast

Hi guy's I'm brewing a Tripel tomorrow and have the safale abbaye yeast. My OG should be 1.084 and will hopefully end up at 9.15% abv. I have two questions really, what are peoples experiences with this yeast and more importantly should I pitch 2 packets or one? Thanks in advance.

    Biab dead space

Thanks for the advice guys, got the hop strainer and tap, and a qmax for the hole. I guess this will enable me to 'tip' the boiler to get the most out and minimise losses?

    Bottom of new style buffalo

Sorry guys one last question. I might be being stupid but how do you take the base of the boiler off to replace the fuse etc. I want to know so that if it blows during a rolling boil I can replace it. The bottom has 1 screw and that's it but it does not want to come off. There is another screw...

    New buffalo hole

I have 2 x 167c fuses coming and a 130c thermal cut out on its way. Thanks for letting me know about the ceramic connector. I have been to 3 plumbing shops and all have no solution for me. So I think the way to go is to cut a 1/2 inch hole and change the valve setup. what a pain. As I said...

    New buffalo hole

The washer covers the hole, just, 1mm over, but I'm not too confident. I think I will syphon into the FV after chilling this time unless that is a bad idea, but there must be a solution? Did buffalo adjust the design to throw a spanner into the works for the home brewers?

    New buffalo hole

Hi guys I bought the bits to put a ball valve etc onto my new buffalo as a thread on here explained how but the hole has changed, it is no longer round. Will the how to guide still work or is there a new way of doing this ? I'm planning on brewing this Saturday so all replies appreciated.

    Biab dead space

Thanks for that. How come the dead space loss is zero on your profile even though the tap is 4 litres above the bottom of the boiler? You profile gives me hope. If I can drop dead space to zero it will all fit.

    Biab dead space

Hi guys a quick question for the Biab Brewers. I'm doing my first Biab on Saturday and have 6.2kg of grain. I'm using a 40litre buffalo. Brewers friend says I need 36.2litres of water. My equipment settings were for 2 litres of dead space but having just done a test it is actually 4 litres to...

    Buffalo gl349

Hi guys I hope you can help. My 40 litre buffalo gl349 arrived and I'm preparing for by biab session. My question is what temperature does it heat to via the 1 - 5 settings. The manual does not tell you so I assume 5 is max boil but 1 - 4 i have no idea. If I for example wanted it at 70 degrees...

    Best BIAB boiler

As ready to go as possible, I don't mind fitting the element. Thanks for the link there seems to be some good stuff. Is there a rule of thumb when buying an electric boiler for biab or literally any will do?
