    Pitched yeast at 32C - effect on beer?

    hi reckon you should be ok, Gervin actually recommend pitching at 30 - 35c., which in my cellars mean temperature of about 22c means my yeasts get a large variation of temp and are fine. Such fears are gods way of telling us that our stocks too high! cheers! graham

    Wine from just supermarket grape juice???

    havent tried the supermarket grape juice but have used innocent brand juices - about 3L with added tannin, citric acid and yeast nutrient . I then SG it and adjust it up to 1090 with sugar (about 10oz) . Have tried a general purpose bordeux yeast and so far they seem to be working ok. best of luck!

    Bittering Hops for a Pale Ale

    Trying a Pale Ale myself - thinking of using goldings for bittering hop and picking up the fragrance with hallertau with hallertau as a dry hop lets know how yours works out cheers!

    evening mates has anyone had a go at a wainwright clone? that is one really nice session bitter with a superb hop balance and finish. got the feeling they must be dry hopping with english hops ??? cheers graham

    howdy Dieseljockey thanks for the reply, found a fair amount with more surfing. stuff like corn sugar and rice husks seem to be a problem, have you used any candi sugar - just wondering how it stands up against brewing sugar cheers graham (sorry added the seems to be a problem)

    howdy paul by the sound of it your using kits - only things i can suggest are 1) use a r :) eally good lager kit then using a light malt extract raise the specific gravity carefully, it will throw the hop balance out but if you put a half a handful of dry hops like hallertau or saaz it might...

    nother newby folks from lancashire!

    just finished setting up for all grain mashing, have done a couple out of Dave Lines brewin beers etc., as youd expect all the problems come out of the woodwork ph wrong on one - no wort chiller so i think the 2nd one may have a good chance of infection. have now got for my birthday wort...
