    Is there a use by date on or are they THAT old, and where have they been or got contaminated with? I wouldn't risk ruining a whole batch and wasting the money spent on other ingredients and the time for the sake of a few quids worth of fresh. I suspected your "Coal from Belgium" was charcoal so...

    anybody got a recipe for elderflower cider

    Had a look on t'internet and found this http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/view ... 5&p=277111 You could omit lime juice if you make the acid level up another way. I'd kill the wild yeast and nasties that come along for the ride with the flowers.
