    Brupaks, Fixby Gold Review

This is my second kit (the first being Wherry) and I've just opened the first couple of bottles. I copied the instructions to the letter and had it in the FV for 8 days. The first few days it went off like a train but the weather was warm and the temp in the FV was 22-24c but it settled down...

The Red Lion (Joules Micro Brewery) Market Drayton

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... ub8A3RZApA Did the tour on Wednesday evening - well worth a visit if you're in the area. £6 for the tour that includes all the Joules ale you can drink - no I really mean all the ale you can drink  There are three hand pulls in the wall and...

To bottle or not to bottle....

Another quick newbie question - indications are that my brew is good to bottle but I won't be in a position to do it until Saturday. Will an extra few days in the FV cause any problems?

To stir or not to stir?

I'm on my second kit now (Brupaks Fixby) and the yeast had to be rehydrated then stirred vigorously for 7 mins to oxygenate - it went off like a rocket at the weekend  (it was also 23c). The previous kit was Wherry and that was a sprinkle and no stir and was a more relaxed affair :D

    Fermenting too quickly..?

Got Brupaks Yorkshire Golden Ale yesterday in Northwich and got it going about 1630hrs. Came down this morning and it's bubbling away like mad and the crust is already approx 1" thick. It's fairly warm outside at the mo' and the temp in the fermenter is 23c. Is this happening too quickly...

    newbie questions...

Thanks for your thoughts so I guess I'm generally on the right track. Heading down to my nearest home brew shop in Northwich next weekend for my next kit. Fancy a go at either: Muntons Midas Touch Golden Ale, or Brupaks Fixby Golden :)

    newbie questions...

Thanks PD for your reply. I reckon my water's fine however I just put 1/2 a tsp of sugar in the bottle and then put the ale straight in - that's a no no then?

    newbie questions...

I've done my first batch of Woodys Wherry and very good it is to but have learnt already that i should have kept the bottles at room temp for several days before storing in the garage (I assume that's to continue the fermentation process?). A few more: 1) I primed the bottles with normal...

    Labelling - I think I've cracked it.

I've also used the above site. If you don't want to use pics then it's free but if you want to upload then you need to register - $5 or c £3.30. Look quite professional IMHO.

    St Peters Golden Ale review

What's the purpose of storing further in a warm room before finally placing them in the garage. My first ever batch several weeks ago went straight to the garage but remains a good pint (Woodfordes Wherry). Am I missing a trick?

    Hello from Cheshire

Thanks for the welcome peeps. I'm in Hatton just south of Warrington. One of my locals is the Hatton Arms where a supplier does their own ale - "Hatton Gold". Not a bad pint either.

    Hello from Cheshire

Hi fellow brewers! Thought it's time to join the forum to learn a bit more about the "dark arts" :D. Just did my very first batch of Woodefordes Wherry. Really surprised at the quality end result - a fine drinking session ale. So impressed that I've given a fair few to friends to try and...
