    Commercial bottling

A lot of breweries force carbonate with a machine. However a lot of smaller breweries still bottle condition which still produces some sediment. I believe there is a beer gun on the market which I think is for force carbing for homebrewers.

    How low can you go!!!

Normal storage of food and milk etc should be about 2-5°C. So your fridge should go lower than that. Stick a fridge/freezer thermometer in there.

making my fridge into a brew fridge

Looking good! Going to have to do the same thing myself as this nice weather has messed with my fermentation temps!

    chlorine and chloramine.

I have never used any water treatments and my brews always come out great. Guess it depends on where you live and how your water is.

    woodfordes sundew

I tend to leave it in the FV for 2 weeks without touching it. So it should be fine for a while longer.

Using lager malt instead of morris otter

Lager malt is very good for American Pale Ales such as a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone. Add a bit of crystal 40 and you're away.

    liquering back Q

Just add more hops to the boil to allow for the additional water being added, in my experience it works out fine.

    Grow your own, uk?

You can definitely grow hops, reasonably easily. You will need to give them a lot of space though. They're big climbers!

    Best brewing phone/tablet apps.

Thanks everyone. I have been happy using BrewR, great timer function etc. Was just hoping there would be an equivalent app to the PC based software.

    Best brewing phone/tablet apps.

Was just wanting to know peoples views on the best apps out there for designing recipes that are quite detailed. I am currently using BrewR which is good, but not as detailed as some of the PC software that people seem to be using on the forum. I have an android phone. Are many people on the...

    Sierra Nevada APA

I have just done the AG Malt Miller recipe and has turned out great. Uses Northern Brewer hops as well as cascade. It was my first AG and I did it BIAB, and quite honestly I wouldn't say it was much harder than doing a kit! Not sure of any kits out there that are anything like Sierra Nevada Pale...

High ABV brew - has it finished?

Thanks. I'm a great lover of Cascade hops... Especially as I recently toured the Sierra Nevada brewery on a recent trip to California. Cascade being a big part of their Pale Ale recipe. Good luck keeping half 'til Christmas!

AG/BIAB - Adding Cold Water post Boil

I used normal tap water when I did it, as my stock pot was too small for the whole batch. Was good for getting the wort down to correct temperature too. I did however use extra hops for the boil to counteract the later addition of water.

    Brew in bag question.

I knew it was Brew, but still managed to type boil twice.... Maybe a couple too many homebrews!

    Brew in bag question.

Thanks very much everyone. I will give it a go shortly after Christmas as the bits and pieces and ingredients are on my Christmas present list from the family!

    Brew in bag question.

I have been on this forum for a while now and learnt many things from all the posts I have read. Up until now I have just been doing coppers kits which have all worked out brilliantly. I now am heading for Brew in the bag as a cheap and quick fix until I go full all grain set up. My question...
