    High temp brewing kits

Hi I know I've asked about this sort of thing before but I'm trying to avoid using other methods such as water baths and towels to cool my FV down as I'm worried this will produce damp in the room. I have asked about whether there are yeast that work at around 21-24c and I was told yes. Now...

    Brew liquid Temp

This was my first brew so my second one I'm going to focus on the wort temp. I have a digital probe thermometre now so I should be able to keep an eye on it. I also discovered my loft is between 9-13c right now. That a good temp for conditioning. I'm going to keep it at 18-21 for a week then...

    Turkey baster

    Turkey baster

Could I use a simple turkey baster to take a sample from my FV for testing SG? Obviously it would be sanitised.

    Brew liquid Temp

Right so as some of you may have read over the past few days, I've started my first brew and quickly discovered my house is quite warm. Initially I was looking at the ambient air temp and from what I've read here I should be concerned more about the temp of the brew liquid itself. I've taken a...

    Question on Syphoning

I still live with my parents at the moment and they dont like the idea of bottle bombs lol. I'm going to buy a ridged syphon pipe for the side of the fermeter and maybe use ridged pipe for the keg. Should work. I know that I wont get the best results with a keg but its my first brew and i'm...

Are there any yeasts designed to work at higher temps

I'll maybe try the bath trick. Do you need to change the water and towel or maintain it in any way. Or is it just drape the towel over and forget about it. Could I take it off after the first few days, as you say thats the more temprature sensitive period. Thanks

Are there any yeasts designed to work at higher temps

Right ok So I could buy the St Peters Ruby Red and put the Safale-04 yeast into that kit? Sorry I'm just trying to get my head around this. Thanks

    Question on Syphoning

I've read on the Omg guide that you want to avoid getting oxygen into your barrel when moving the beer from the FV into the barrel. Now firstly, I thought the point of conditioning was to allow for a slight secondary ferm, which would require oxygen....yeah? Secondly, it recommends making sure...

Are there any yeasts designed to work at higher temps

Great thanks, so can you use this yeast with any malt. I want to try the St Johns ruby red?

Are there any yeasts designed to work at higher temps

As some of you may have seen I'm new to brewing, and I'm quickly discovering that my house is like a sauna for yeast. :? I'm finding it very difficult to keep a consistent temperature in the 18-21 range needed by yeast. My next brew is going to be an Ale and I'm wondering if it possible to...

    Temp for Conditioning

Another New guy questions since you're all being really helpful. :D I've been reading that once you put the brew into bottles/keg -a keg in my case- you need to cool it down. I've read that you give it a day or two at a slightly lower temp than the ferm temp so in my case about 16c then...

Foam disappearing after less than 2 days

It was the kit that came with my bin, looking forward to trying a couple of different options. I personally prefer to drink lagers, but this might make me an ale man.
