    Cloudy brew help?

Thanks all for the replies. Here's where we're now at. I went with dry hopping it on Friday. Left for three days then moved to cool. The beer is now much clearer, but still has a haze. Flavour is still not defined like I'm used to when using US05. I'm going to put my worry's down to trying a new...

    Cloudy brew help?

thanks for your reply, however, I have brewed this beer before and I know that when comparing the appearance and taste at the end of primary there is definitely something not quite right this time round. Whilst I'm not expecting it to be crystal clear, it should be much clearer than the...

    Brewing method advice sought!

Cheers pittsy, this is more like what i was after! If i boil the hops in only 5l of wort will i lose some hop flavour when i then add the rest of the water up to 21l? And if i don't boil the dme for at least ten mins what sort of problems would that cause me?

    Brewing method advice sought!

Cheers, but I really wouldn't have the time between now and Saturday to put something like that together. Any other suggestions? I think I'm going to go for 500g amber DME in the boil and add the muntons enhancer to the fv.

Thanks for the reply, very useful to have someone else confirm my thinking! Also wondered would hop pellet sludge potentially stick to the electric elements?

Hop pellets and an electric boiler

I'm trying to decide on what gear to invest in for all grain. Living in flat pretty much rules out gas boiler and steel brew kettle, the space saving covenience of one of the brupaks electric boilers is appealing to me, however, I was wondering if these are suitable to use with hop pellets due...

    Better Brew, IPA

I've used the carbonation drops on about a dozen bottles for my first brew and the results have been inconsistent. I ended up pouring some bottles down the sink and others were just drinkable and no more. The batch priming I used for the rest of the bottles has given flawless results. Leaves me...

    coopers carbonation drops advice

I tried them on some of my first brew. I found they under carbonated the beer at 1 per 500mls bottle. But I also batch primed a larger portion of the brew with half a tsp sugar per 500ml and achieved a much better result.
