I’m putting together the ingredients for an IPA recipe, the recipe calls for flaked oats but I’ve mistakenly bought flaked oats with husks.
I’ve not used flaked oats with husks before, can anyone with experience advise what impact it may have on the taste, abv, etc?
I’ve used rice hulls before, to reduce the amount of wort disappearing down the overflow (I brew in a Grainfather), would the oat husks do the same job?
I don’t mind experimenting but there’s a lot of expensive hops going in and I’ll be sobbing if goes wrong
All help is welcome
