If I change the bittering hops from 30g to 35g is it a difference recipe. If the hop alpha acid is 10% for 2022 hops and I use 2023 at 11% with a different IBU is it a different recipe. Can we get back to discussing CML or has enough been said?

Another thread that’s got away from itself lol

I agree and due to the fact The Baron told us 12 posts ago Steve is happy for us to archive the recipes for future reference if the sale doesn't go through there is little point in carrying on discussing what is and is not copyright when it comes to Steve's recipes.

@The Baron posted -
I have spoken to Steve at Crossmyloof and he has informed me that the company is in the process of a possible purchase with a client.
If it goes through and this may take a month or so the recipes will be still available if the sale does not go through and the company is closed he is happy for us to archive the recipes for future reference.
He also said that the website is paid up for quite a while yet so it is not imminent that they will disappear.
He would also like to thank all our members for their patronage custom and kind words since announcing the impending retirement.

I just thought I would change the subject "slightly"

Placed an order on Monday - got confirmation on Monday - info the order had shipped Tuesday - and the order arrived lunch time today.

Steve also emailed me letting me know if there were any issues to contact him.

Great service!!

Many thanks to Steve - I hope he enjoys his retirement.

That's good news. Although I've just had a bulk order from them for my go to yeast, hog norsk, it's good to know I'll still be able to order all the oddities that I sometimes use. I know there's other suppliers available but I do like cml yeast.

Mashbag - Good news. Seems that CML WILL CONTINUE .. There's a new message up in bright yellow

Screen shot of the page MB mentions above for those that cannot visit -

I have had a email from Steve at CML this morning confirming that the business is under offer and hopefully all will go well for a smooth transition.
That's fantastic! Hopefully they will continue the same model of "small quantities of yeast/hops with low postage". I changed my purchasing practise from "in bulk to save on postage" to "buy just what I need per brew" (for hops and yeast only) because of the way CML works/charges. There is definitely a niche to fill with their model. I don't want to go back to buying in bulk

And this is why I love these guys. They're like the Anti-Amazon. A box just big enough to fit everything in without being hugely oversized... and even recycling old crisp boxes!

14 sachets of yeast, 600g of hops. All in this little box. Amazon would have send a metre cubed box for all of that!
