Can't say exactly what I've been up to in the last few months. You can be assured that whatever was happening I did manage to get a few beers in.

The grisette glass is my oh FFS raspberry and pineapple sour. 10% raspberry and 10% pineapple. Raspberry overwhelms. It was meant to taste like a fruit salad chew.

Delicious nonetheless. That is a 50% pulp version so thick others are 10% pulp so I have a wide range of them 🙂

A friend gifted me a number of fullers vintage ales. The 2014 was better than 2018 so I've put the 2019+ ones to one side. Not sure I'm going to live till 2032 to enjoy them 😂

The vending machine is at the het Anker brewery hotel in Mechelen.

Re their gift shop their glasses and some beers were reasonably priced but the curve de kaiser bottles were 12e and we picked them up from vanuxeem for 6e

We were however able to try this and last year's special edition and decided not to bother... Batteliek and Margherita.

Then to Ypres where we suffered from cheese overload still it goes well with Belgian beer I ordered a 33cl but measure was more like 50cl so ordered another, same result except I was extremely merry 🤫

Once home My next visit to beerriff happened to be a verdant 10yr tto. There were around 8-10 verdant beers I couldn't do the board, so a visit the following day and a few takeaway cans.

Finally beerriff have a number of Vault city Halloween beers.

I'd advise against the blood and ink. If it can even be poured from the tap (which took ages for a 1/3rd)

Totally style over substance, low on fruit flavor and sourness and at least in the spirit of Halloween looks disgusting in the glass. -🤢 unless drinking lumpy caviar is your thing.

I popped into M&S this afternoon and bought a couple of beers to try. I don’t often buy beers in M&S because they don’t have a great selection. They do have a couple of Belgian beers but that’s really about it for me. I think today I just stood in front of the beers too long and felt I ought to buy a couple! This is the first.

I’m sorry to say I don’t rate this one very highly, it’s pretty average.

Both bottles tasted the same. Not sure why one wasn't carbonated as it was batch primed and both came from the same cupboard (2 weeks in)

I'll give them another week before trying and see how I go. I just don't think the taste will get better.

The first brew I did of this was lovely. Thought I'd add to it and it went a lot stronger after I added extra oats.

I can only think the cap wasn’t on properly :confused.:

From the depths of my beer cellar, a Nordic Porter from the Störtebeker brewery in Stralsund (D).
This beer was brewed using the "Eisbock process". As a limited edition, it was matured in a whisky cask and a one-off 3000 bottles were filled.

This morning a coffee on DFDS ferry to Calais for a pre Christmas wine buying trip.
IMG_20241017_133051.jpg

Preprandial Chimay Biere Blonde in a little town restaurant in Marck, just outside Calais.

Then it's Alsace Pinot Noir with local smoked salmon starter.
Both amazingly tasty.
IMG_20241017_135556.jpg

The it's another glass of red with the in-house Flanders speciality Potscheuelsh, salad and the thinnest of chips imaginable.
Suffice to say also top flavours.

Then SWMBO'D followed with a serve-yourself pears in spiced red wine.
I tried some, the tastiest poached pear I never had.
I just had a coffee (not shown).
I then tasted a few (few too many) in the Calais wine superstore.
Obviously no photos there either!🥂🥂🥂🍷🍷🍷
A little sleepy now.
