Should be interesting. I think I've done pale malt with mixed lager and ale yeast but never lager malt with ale yeast. Looking forward to your review on what are you drinking tonight.

Cold IPA isn't fermented cold even when using lager yeast. The key thing is to maximise the thiols from the hops while keeping a completely clear- not even hazy- beer, which is then served cold or chilled. The best yeast in the Fermentis range for this type of "biotransformation" is their K-97, which is a Kolsch yeast. I've used Høg Norsk, a similar yeast to good effect.
No idea of how Midland will achieve this, but with a shed load of Tropical England it's going to be a great beer.

Get it done, i didn't even do a recipe, started with 21L water then added the malt to what was a good mash thickness then 8L of sparge water, 10g at 60 and 100g at 15 i will let you know

Interesting about the K-97, might have to give that a try. Particularly when I have a kolsch on my do list
Todays brew, Tropical England smash 160grams at 40mins

No 160gr at 40 but I might change it to 15

Sorry my bad, i meant 160 at 20 mins to go but i am now going with 15 mins, there are no bittering hops in this brew

It is a nice mix, bought 450gr from CML, so far i have tried it with pilsner malt it was very nice and didn't last long, this one is with crisps best ale maltAh. So tropical England is a hop.

20l yeast pitched 5.2% happy with that, another tomorrow but I will add a bittering charge, then away on Saturday for a week happy days
Just chilling tropical England pale ale, I added some bittering hops to this one and 100g at 10 mins to go and just left em in while it chills
