I had a couple of pints of Sussex Best in the pub and then picked up this 5-Points Best on the way home. I’ve seen @dave_77 with a bottle a few times and have been meaning to try it because it uses the same ingredients as my own best bitter. The 5-Points version is lighter in colour, is less malty, and is a lot more bitter. Quite a nice contrast given the same ingredients but I would say the bitterness is maybe a touch too assertive.

I think it's the bitterness I love...my latest beer I'm Kegging this weekend is my version of this beer 🤞🏼

That's interesting, The Malt miller do a clone kit which I was thinking about trying. Maybe I'll reduce the bittering hop.
For my taste that would make it more drinkable and more enjoyable, as it is it puts me in mind of Jackhammer!

If you’ve not tried the original you can get it in Morrisons - might be worth trying it before you brew a batch?

My wife suggested we pop into Toby Carvery for lunch as we were passing. The carvery was quite nice and I had a London Pride to go with it. When the London Pride turned up it was served in a very tall glass dripping with condensation and with a huge head fed by a torrent of bubbles. WTF! 😲

…and that’s why I’m starting tonight with a Full English Best Bitter. Ahhhhh!

It's rubbish when pubs don't know sh1te about serving beer. In Kikby Lonsdale last week a pub had a "cask" lager..out of interest I asked for a taste. Firstly it wasn't at lager carbonation,it was virtually flat,it wasn't chilled and it was off! Tasted like vinegar. I told the lad behind the bar who just shrugged and said he didn't know about such things.

They’re pioneers Clint, next week we’ll all be asking for it! 😂
