I've been using oxyclean type powders for a while on my fermenters and a few weeks back I noticed that it left a fine white residue on clear bottles even after a lot of rinsing. (It's hard to see at all on brown or green bottles.)

I'm thinking it might just be this cheap Lidl brand stuff? Maybe other brands don't do this.. Has anyone else noticed this? I'd hate to think this stuff ends up in peoples beer. :?

The stuff I get from morri*ons cleans bottles and fermenters a treat and rinses away fine.

I also sterilise my equipment after with bleach and water so the extra rinsing it gets there may get rid of any remaining residue.

I find VWP leaves a residue too, if not rinsed sufficiently. Don't blame the Lild stuff, I think extra rinsing is the key.

I heard on the other forum that citric acid will dissolve any residue .. will prolly work for VWP too.
