Hmmm, cherry, blackberry, vanilla. Luxurious. It’s like the stout of wine.

An absolute cracker of a beer. An imperial stout from otterbank brewing and blending muff co. Donegal. Matured in whiskey casks for 13 months with brettanomyces leaves a sweet strong stout with a dry finish. 11.9%
Never tasted a stout like it. Where the strength should leave an alcohol taste the Brett makes it more subtle and easy drunk. A damm fire beer.

After a morning spent shopping with the wife and a lovely lunch in the pub (I drove as the beer is poor)
Home now to a left hand brewing st vrain triple ale.
Described as an American homage to a Belgian classic its American hops and Belgian yeast.
9.3% is a bit strong for a first beer but I would have had 2 or 3 in the pub if I had went to my choice. So 🤷‍♂️

We’re baby-sitting tonight so I popped in the shop for some beers. They didn’t have a great choice and quite a few shelves were empty but I did manage to pick out this selection.

Think I’ll start with the Abbot as I’ve not had one of those for longer than I can remember. The colour is nice but I’m not as keen on the flavour. I used to like Abbot so either my tastes have changed or the beer has because I won’t be buying it again in a hurry, there are lots of other beers more to my taste.

I like TT Landlord and Proper Job.

I don't think i have had any of the three on the left of the proper job.

First beer of the day is a very nice Trappist Single from @samale.
Nice fruity character from the yeast. Tasty beer, but does comes across slightly sweet. What was the finishing gravity?
I liked it but I think the bottle I had could do with slightly more bitterness and a little more carbonation to help with the perception of sweetness. Thanks for sending 🍺

Twice Tangled and Oakham Citra are both nice. The Good Old Boy is OK, maybe a little more berry fruit than I would normally go for. This is it…

On the topic of Oakham Citra here's my AG copy as the first drink. I used US Citra and was a bit chicken about the weight but looking back wish I'd used more as the taste buds get accustomed to the hit and it does fade over the weeks. In short an excuse to quaff three if I dare!
