Youngs winebuddy 30 bottle kits

I got one of these kits for Christmas what are they like, should I make it as per instructions or add some concentrated grape juice or short brew to say 20 ltrs.
What are your thoughts

I made the Merlot kit, as per the instructions. It worked out pretty well. More a dark rose than a red, but quite nice even if I say so myself
