Morning all.
I have been given a youngs cider kit but cannot find a good review about them.
Is there something i should do/add to ensure a better finalised brew.
Was opening to get about 6-7% and medium.
Any help thanks in advance.

Hello,

you can add a 1/4 teaspoon of tannin per gallon and some malic acid (alternatively Citric and tartaric acids can also help). They should give the brew extra bite.

If you do not have any of these you can use a strong black tea to increase the tannins.

I never used this Kit but usually they come out around 5-6 %. If you want an higher alcohol % than you should add more sugar.

Cheers for the advice.
sorry about the delay in getting back.

Many thanks and advice taken.

I know you said you took the previous posts advice but for future reference I think you can also brew it to 30 pints rather than 40 with the same ingredients to make it stronger (Im sure I read that on the youngs cider kit).
