Hi Guys,

Just been given some vouchers for Wilkinson's and thought i might as well buy some more home brew stuff. They only sell one cider kit and thats the Brew Buddy Original kit. Has anyone tried this? Can i put some pear juice in as a part sugar substitute to try and enhance the flavour ?

Thanks

John

I have this, I'm only just starting out myself and I can say if you follow the recipe as it is, it comes out very nice indeed.

if this is the youngs brew buddy kit 40pint cider set then i am also doing this now. i'm close to letting mine be bottled (or so i think) oncemy hydrometer reading reaches 0.998 then i am able to bottle it ? but on the instructions it says that fermentation should take about 7 days (slightly more because i'm doing the 32 pint variation at 7%) that is step 5. then for step 6a you have bottling and 6b you have kegging. since i'm bottling it i'm doing 6a which says leave in the bottles for 3 days, step 7 then says to leave it for a week for it to be clear and it should be ready to drink. (although i thought this was the week that the fermentation took place or does it get very cloudy when you bottle it using a syphon type?) :?: :?:

wilkos dont seem to have much stuff in store homebrew shops are better.

ive found with the kit that if u make it to instrution it comes out very week ie no body to the cider ive now make it to 20l not 25l.

i would rekamend the new blueberry and apple kits that are out now very nice indeed

was my first kit

came out similar to strognbow, the wife added cordial to it

but i would nto rush back and do another
