I wonder if the person making the application has ever made beer - (see below)
In addition to this, the caravan has no mains electric, water supply or sewerage.

PLANNING permission is being sought after for a 'brew room' on a Walney field.

A request has been made for the approval of a caravan to be situated on land off Red Ley Lane.

The proposal claims that the caravan will be used as a brew room and will provide shelter from the harsh weather, as the field is 'open to the elements'
The caravan in question has recently undergone work with all beds removed from the bedrooms - with the applicant stating that it would not be used for overnight stays.

They said: "We can confirm the caravan will not be lived in, or used for sleeping in.

"The caravan is set to the side of a field and will be used as a brew room and to take shelter from wind and rain as the field is open to the elements of the weather."

In addition to this, the caravan has no mains electric, water supply or sewerage.

The applicant has two more requests in the proposal - for a hay storage facility and a plastic greenhouse.

They state: "As our field is in a windswept area, our hay needs somewhere to keep it dry and away from the wet weather as this could contaminate the feed for the animals."

Neighbours to the land in question have been consulted about the proposal, including those on Ramsgate Crescent and Walney Airfield.

The application is currently being assessed as officers have already visited the site and negotiations have already taken place.

For more information, visit the Barrow Borough Council planning hub and search for application B18/2020/0696.

The latest titbit to hit the French press is that Bojo's dad has applied for French nationality so he can remain European.
https://www.ouest-france.fr/europe/...nalite-francaise-pour-rester-europeen-7105101While this was reported in the Indi in March this year and he's applying on the grounds that his mum was born in Versailles, I still think it qualifies for "You Couldn't Make it Up!"
It'll be interesting to see whether it's granted.

If you see a road closed sign or winter weather warning, please don’t ignore it. Some of the higher routes are very challenging at the moment. Our Rangers, Emergency Services & Mountain Rescue Teams don’t need the additional pressure.

I tried RainX once. It was great for a few minutes and then smeared horribly. I always had to ride with my visor half up.

Covid: Friends fined for 68-mile drive to visit McDonald's

A "group of friends" from different addresses told police they had driven from Manchester to Uttoxeter to visit McDonald's.

Staffordshire Police said the four occupants of the car, which was stopped in Uttoxeter on Friday night, were all fined £200.

The force tweeted the group did not have "legitimate reasons to be here other than going to McDonald's!"

The force reminded people to "stay at home unless necessary".

Police said they stopped the car at the McDonald's on the A50, just off the B5030 & A518.

Manchester to Uttoxeter is an approximately 68-mile (109km) journey.

Current restrictions mean people are not allowed to leave home to meet socially with anyone they do not live with or are not in a support bubble with.

@chopps it just goes to show the stupidity of some people knows no bounds.

Sri Lanka's health minister, who endorsed herbal syrup to prevent Covid, has tested positive for the virus.
Pavithra Wanniarachchi tested positive on Friday, a media secretary at the Ministry of Health told the BBC.
She had promoted the syrup, manufactured by a shaman who claimed it worked as a life-long inoculation against the virus.

A student party that attracted people from up to 200 miles away has been broken up by police.
Some of the guests were found hiding in cupboards when officers raided the gathering in Lower Loveday Street, Birmingham, on Friday night.
One officer was assaulted as one guest made off but was not hurt, West Midlands Police said.
Party-goers had travelled to the event from places such as Newcastle, Nottingham and London.
The flats are private accommodation but predominantly used by students from Aston University and University College Birmingham, West Midlands Police said.
Insp Steve Barnes added: "We understand that young people are frustrated at not being able to enjoy themselves and I do feel their pain, but we have to stick to the rules so that we can get back to some sort of normality sooner rather than later.
"People are dying and we have to prevent the spread of this virus."
Officers were also called to a party on Soho Road where shop owners had set up a sound system, and a 30th birthday party attended by about 20 people in Kingstanding.
Across 32 breaches of Covid-19 lockdown rules on Friday night, the force issued 58 fines of £200 and five of £1,000.
The West Midlands is under an England-wide lockdown with people not allowed to leave home to meet others socially.
On Thursday, the government said fines of £800 would be introduced in England this week for anyone attending a house party of more than 15 people.
