Even me and my next-to-zero contacts with news found out about a school shooting not far, relatively, from where I live. The "You couldn't make it up" part is that there were multiple warnings and chances for the shooting to not have happened.

If that's the same unfortunate shooting event we have heard about, the parents bought the hunting weapon just days before, and allowed him access against all advice by the school management that he was seriously disturbed, with a fantastical fascination with school massacres.
The last we heard the parents had been arrested too for wilful recklessness.
Doesn't help the victims nor families one iota.

That's the one. Once I found out about it, my wife kept me slightly informed. All of the school shootings seem to run together/have the same theme. After I heard about the shooting from ESPN (of all places). I did go to FOX NEWS, against my better judgement, for a minute or two to see how the tragedy would be spun to blame something besides guns. I was not disappointed. It's cell phones, video games, pressure from school, parents, social media, hot fudge sundaes but never the fact that guns are legal and easy to get.
I like guns in that I would enjoy target shooting and I like machines in general. But there is such a deep-seated fear in the RW conservative, taking away their guns would be like taking away their air.
At one point, I got into reading about the 2nd Amendment and it's really flimsy as it relates to private citizens owning guns.

Diesel where I live is 151.9 a litre. I’d love to fill my tank at 131.9. On a 50 litre fill that’s a saving of ten quid.

unfortunatly yes, my daughter decorated a number of those at her employers. It does mean you can fit a brewmeister under the tree though!

Yes, traditional christmas trees are a crap design. hanging objects on shorter upper branches means they just sit on the longer branches below. They also take up far too much floor space. Turning it upside down fixes both problems
We have gone one better and now have an umbrella Christmas tree

Our cats would get stuck near the ceiling. At least with a normal tree you can pluck them from the middle with some difficulty.
We used to use fishing line to secure the tree to keep the tree upright.
Christmas trees, bulbs, tinsel--especially tinsel--and cats don't mix.
