Hi all,

I've just starting my second batch of home brew (Coopers Real Ale kit) and I'm confused what to do with the yeast. On my first batch I stirred it in but reading on the forum it looks like people just sprinkle the yeast on top?

What are your views and experiences on sprinkling or stirring?

Also when you sprinkle on top, do you stir it in after a couple of days or just leave alone.

Cheers

Doesn't really matter, as long as
1 you get plenty of oxygen in the wort, stir it like mad before putting the yeast in, (this is the important bit)
2 You have a good (well within sell by date) packet of yeast.
3 Your wort is at the optimum pitching temp for the yeast you are using.

Sprinkle your pack on top and shut the lid,
If u want stir it in after 15 mins with a sterile paddle/spoon, (I don't bother, and no problems as of yet)
