Hi,

My AG2 has finished fermenting, and I chilled it for a couple of days to clear. It has cleared nicely, however, there are still loads of quite large (5mm or so) yeast 'rafts' floating throughout the beer that just won't seem to drop. Its just a basic ale yeast (munton's gold).

Any suggestions, or am I going to have to buy a filter?

Thanks!

You could probably break them up and then they will sink, but I would just rack with your siphon as normal. They will stay on the surface until it gets to the bottom, then stop your siphon.

The thing is they are sort of throughout the beer, not on the top. I have siphoned into secondary, but they aren't cooperating. Little sods!

crash cool it if you can ..put fermenter in a fridge. for a few days

Yeah I thought it was a bit odd. The yeast seems really 'chunky' so to speak.. Maybe too much irish moss or something. Who knows. Will just have to wait and see I guess!
