Hi Glyn ive used the White Labs WLP802 before it made a awesome crisp budvar type lager, took a long time to condition though:thumb:

This is supposed to be from the same brewery I think.

According to this anyway...

Only used it once, it was when i first started out on grain and was very keen at the time to drink my beers faster than i should have lol, even made some reference at the time that i wouldnt make another batch of budvar again as i was not that impressed! 3 months later after learning a lot from various threads and people like ie Mr Clibit i tried another bottle of what i made and it was possibly one of the finest largers i have tasted.

Now would i make it again dam yes, infact when my grains turn up this week its saturdays first brew with my new mash tun, ive been intrigued by a conversation with Clibit when i made that said brew, hes put a idea into my head by maybe replacing the Sazz Hops with Citra or something will it be a nice twist on a bloody good Budvar:hmm:

My biggest brewing sin after never hitting the right mash temp. Time makes so much difference.

Last brew was bottled 10 days ago and it was gone by Sunday night (did have a little help with that). Still tasted good mind and people were after more rather than having a courtesy pint and going for the beer the missus bought for people.

Funny you say that because everyone nos ales get better with age, but im one for quality control always sample at different points, ive had really young ales that were better than some pub ales at the same length of time as you state

Wyeast 2001 is Pilsner Urquell.
2007 is Budweiser
