Hi,

I just set off a Coopers Australian Pale Ale with 1KG beer kit enhancer, it has been in the FV about 2 hours and there is already a 2-3cm yeast cake!

Is this normal? I have never seen this happen so quickly before. I gave it a very good stir so should have been all mixed in.

Now I am wondering if I should open up and give another thrashing?

Thanks

ok cool.. will probably leave it then. I was just looking at it and thinking how you can't really tell if its just DME that hasn't been mixed in properly or not.

Ooh cake, I was thinking krauzen. That should be fine as well - see how it goes, generally fermentation has a way of both finding and stirring the sugars.

I will leave them to get on with their feast whilst sampling the results of those that came before them :drink: in the form of a very tasty Wherry.
