So I'm planning to start brewing tomorrow and had 2 questions:

I'm starting with the Cooper Australian Lager and stout along with a belgian tripple. All kits.

Concerning the lager, I also bought some nottingham yeast and some flavapak lager (which I think contains hops that would be good in a lager.)

Would I be best to use both with the australian lager kit to improve it- that is, change the yeast from the kit and add a hop tea from the flavapak?

what do people think?

thanks

The yeast would probably be a nice change as kit yeasts tend to be pretty poor (and also usually result in under pitching).

The hop tea is really up to yourself. Whether you decide to use the hop tea or not, you could always brew a second batch and do the opposite. This will allow you to determine the difference the hop tea makes.

Homebrew is all about figuring out what works best for your tastes! good luck :thumb:

why dont u just run with the kits as standard then decide if u want to improve them ? just that the coopers kits are pretty good and u dont know what to improve if u aint tried it already ... u may like them :thumb:
