First attempt at making wine and looking for a few pointers.

I put it all together a few weeks ago and it's still bubbling away, albeit a lot slower than it was. I decided to take a gravity reading today and it's currently at 0.98 ish and still very murky looking in the DJ.

Should I be looking to transfer to another DJ to stop fermentation and clear it?

Cheers!

You need to rack it to a sterilized DJ onto a crushed campden tablet, degas, add stabilizer and if you want to drink it soon finings (i use KwiK Clear as it is fast and does a great job)

Ignore the part in the video where he says he is going to rack the now clear wine into another DJ unless you intend to bulk age it, i bottle it as soon as it is clear.

I add stabiliser, degas, then add fining, i have read some members leave a gap between stabilising and adding fining but i don't see any need.

Another noob question :)

I went to Wilkos to pick a few things up today and I stupidly forgot to get Campden tablets :(

How vital is it that I add one before I rack n clear? Can I get away with leaving it out?

You can leave it out but you run the risk of your wine spoiling, if you intend to drink it soon i wouldn't worry.

Hi chippy how many Camden tabs would you recomend for 27L wow
