i dont suppose anyone lives near bury st edmunds and is willing to talk me through a ag or extract brew on one of their brew days is there? it would just set things straight in my mind about the whole process

In the absence of a local you could do worse than read the guide here. If you have specific questions I'm sure they'll be answered fairly quickly.

yeah i have read the guide just dont want to mess up 5 gallons of perfectly good beer that's a hanging offence in my book lol.

That's fair enough but it isn't as complicated as some of us make it look.

AG is basically warm up some water, steep some grain at 66 degrees for some time, boil the resulting liquid with hops then cool and ferment.

The second brew's always easier so you just have to get your first over with, creating a drinkable product is a possible bonus :thumb:

You could allways do your first brew when the chat room is open that way you'll have plenty of people to guide you through the process and as ano has already said its easy enough to do once you've done it you will see for yourself :thumb:

Chat is open from 7pm Fri to Midnight Sunday, almost always someone around who will be happy to help.

Good call ni9e

I agree with ni9e. When i did my first AG i did it on a sunday night and i was logged into chat, and Mr WEZ helped me out with the mash temp. God that seems like a life time ago.

That does seem like a long time ago
