I bought a bottle of Worthingtons White Shield to harvest the yeast but I've since read a few people saying it isn't as good as it used to be, or it isn't the primary strain any more. Has anyone used it recently and can comment on whether it's worth using?

Probably me that said that, this was the only yeast I used for many years until it became hard to find. When it did return it was completely different. That's when someone on one of the forums mentioned it's not the primary yeast any more. It will still make a beer but I was very disappointed when I tried it again.

So I should probably just drink the beer and leave the yeast. I might still harvest it and grow it on just as practice for doing it with some Bengal Lancer.
