I'm looking to make a copper immersion chiller, using some cooper piping/coil. Does anyone know what measurements - i.e. diameter and length - I will need to chill 5 gallons? And which fittings I will need to connect one end to the hose tap?

Cheers for your help, and make sure you all keep well,
H

For comparison purposes a DIY chiller with 2 Hoselock fittings for hose connection, all parts from Screwfix.

Wednesbury Wednesbury Microbore Copper Pipe Coil 10mm x 10m 1@£22.00 each
Endex Copper End Feed Reducing Couplers 15 x 10mm 2 Pack 1@ £2.04 each
Pegler PX42 Brass Compression Adapting Male Coupler 15mm x ¾ 2@£4.30 each
Hozelock Threaded Outdoor Tap Connector. 2@£3.99 each

Total cost in UK from Screwfix £40.02

Provided your coil is small enough to fit into your vessel and all the coils are submerged in the hot wort, size doesn't matter as the actress said to the bishop :laugh8:
