Wise words indeed.Trying to replicate Grolsch is a mistake in and of itself!

My first AG, should have also done more research. 35% caramel malts. I'm drinking it but not great. Considering mixing it 50/50 with a very dry stout I've made.
That is still legendary, though. It's easy to follow a recipe... follow a path... but the true heroes of brewing fanny about for a few years until it's all amazing. That's what I've heard (hope happens). My first ever AG was done without enough research. Lager malt and cascade smash, must have been 4%ABV and about 80IBU. It actually mellowed ok and after about 6 months became rather nice.
RaKeep talking - what was the rest of it? Was it just made up on the spot and mixed with hobnobs and some figs you had forced on you**?? How big was the batch, what yeast did you use?
That's my method... I don't make errors... Even the 3 hour boil I've done , while sleeping was on purpose... :p
That last line is a shame. Given you're still around are you going to give brewing another shot? But I still bottled it anyway, and after a few months it was quite nice.
But I never brewed again.
4) wearing slippers - my feet were soaked
5) not telling the missus i'd be tied up for the night - she didn't go to bed until I got in at 22:35
6) taking almost 5 hrs
I signed up to this forum yesterday with just this in mind. The world needs more disastrous beer, and I'm the llama for the job...That last line is a shame. Given you're still around are you going to give brewing another shot?
Ah, Llama Man, I couldn't parse out your name before. I was mistaking you for someone else who made a brew called "dirty arm ale" after a similar incident. Welcome and good luck.I signed up to this forum yesterday with just this in mind. The world needs more disastrous beer, and I'm the llama for the job...
