Just to add to that, I do think re-using your yellow letters on your next word is a waste of a guess.
This is how I have routinely played. I look at potential words using the letters I have (green or yellow) rather than trying a completely new combination. I had thought that by using completely new letters, you were wasting what you learned in your previous guess.

I might try an approach of completely different letters for the first 2 guesses and see how that works for me.

Oh I quite like that set of words, a wry poetic commentary on the way that adverse childhood experience impacts social integration and acceptance in adulthood... maybe I'm reading more into this than I should 😁 !

Another good one today.
Tess, I agree with your approach. For example, 2 unique words first up get me 3 more often then not (although I don't get twos anymore).

I agree (most of the time) with the second line being 5 different letters. My two choices cover all 5 vowels and 5 more common consonants most of the time.

My take, if you have three starter words that cover all of the vowels and the most common consonants, you are likely to be able to consistently get it correct by the fourth try and sometimes the third if the first two are good guesses. Whereas re-using the letters you've already found while trying to get the missing ones can sometimes end up using tries chasing that elusive last letter. However I think there's also more chance for getting it in less than four goes by re-using letters, but it's a gamble with a greater element of chance

Having said that I prefer the re-use method as I find that more interesting, and less like running an algorithm. This was mine (spoiler):
