I'm brewing! The first time since early January.

This is Paul's recipe from his website, based on Black Sheep Ale, slightly tweaked to my **** efficiency and using Nottingham instead of S04.

Woolly Jumper

4.5kg Maris Otter
200g Crystal Malt 120L
150g Torrified Wheat
10g Roast Barley
48g East Kent Goldings 5.7%AA 90 min Boil
10g East Kent Goldings 5.7%AA 15 min boil
25g Bobek 5.2%AA 1min boil

Nottingham

5 gallon brew length
OG: 1045
IBUs 33.6
ABV 4.5%

Pics to follow later.

I had to split the brew day - I mashed & sparged today and will be boiling tomorrow.

Got some pics which I'll post tomorrow when I'm a little more sober ;)

:drink: :drink:

I'm mid chilling - having to bodge together some sanitiser for the fermenter cos I've run out of Iodophor :?

I've got some star san which I've never used as it always goes cloudy with my tap water due to the hardness/alkalinity. So I've had to treat my tap water with CRS to reduce the temporary hardness then mix with Star San - seems to have done the job, the PH is below 3 and it hasn't turned cloudy :thumb:

Nice one JV - i'm getting withdrawal symptoms

need to brew....need to brew....need to brew.....

Ahhh....Black Sheep. Bootiful. Enjoy it! Always nevevous about leaving a brew part done: the missus might demand that something gets done instead and I end up chucking it away!
