I've got this kit and it's only a 24 pint brew but it's 7 % hopefully
has anyone tried this kit before ? I'm thinking if it's good next time I'll double up and brew a decent amount 24 pints is a bit stingy for all the waiting

very popular brew in our shop, especially in winter

Sorry to jump on your post but I see you are currently drinking a St Peters ruby red ale.

What do you think of it? how long did you condition it for?

I bottled mine on Saturday and look forward to trying it.

I used finnings and left it for a while in a fv to clear . Ended up being longer than I had hoped because the missus gave birth in between so I wasn't allowed to brew for a few days ha ha
anyway once clear I kegged it in my baby cornilius keg and bottled the rest the keg is almost gone and was really good after 2 weeks the bottles I'm gonna leave a bit longer they each have a tea spoon of sugar to prime. Hope they are as good as the keg : )

so to answer your question the ruby red was drinkable in about 5 weeks from start that was with finnings though .

Cheers for the reply appreciate it.

I only primed my bottles with 3/4 teaspoon of sugar or a carbonation drop (i only had 20 or so crabonation drops)
I also mini kegged 5L with 1 and half table spoons of sugar, hopefully my priming is not going to give me flat beer.

:drink:
