Hi there any ideas on what yeast to use following g.wheelers book for timothy taylor landlord ,timothy taylor best bitter and moorland old speckled hen I haven't found what he recommends its probably right in front of me im I right in thinking its Safale-04 for all 3

Notty or Safale S04 would be safe bets but you may in time want to introduce a different yeast perhaps one of the whitelabs yeasts. i have been brewing a clone of fullers esb from Whellers book. I have changed it by adding wheat malt and playing with the percentages in the grain bill and hops. I have now used a yeast from a commercial brewery in essex and it hass made a whole host of a difference making it now'my own' beer nothing like the original but still very good. :thumb:

Wyeast do a West Yorkshire strain reputed to be the TT strain, but never used it myself. I've used whitelabs WLP English ale yeast a lot, really good for this beer.

hey thanks guys can I use the whitelabs WLP English ale yeast on all 3 brews the reason 4 the 3 brews is iv been brewing coopers then went ag had loads now drunk my way through it and need 2 get mor on the go and was going 2 order grain and found its just as cheap ordering enuff for 3 brews of the same base grains and where is the best deals on grain

Malt miller is good the Crisps Marris otter in 25KG sack is about £24.00, you may get a sack a few quid cheaper but crisps is by far the best malt you improve your efficiencies by about 5% using it so definitely worth while.

Brewlab do a Timothy Taylor yeast, that's what I've used for TTL in the past

I used a wyeast west yorkshire (1l starter) for my TTL and it was spot on.
