After my stout test with a comparison with nottingham, I feel I can conclude that I prefer nottinham :thumb: It lends to the malts much better and the overall flavour is deeper and richer. It seems to be that wlp013 is a bit bland. :( The desription talks of these oakey esters but I dont get them. Maybe it needs a hotter ferment. Very clean IMO.

Anyone else used this yeast and have any views on it?
 
I just got a vial the other day. Was hoping for some oakyness. Although I know a few who have found it to give a nice cherry type flavour!
 
I`ve used this yeast in the past, several years ago, with good results. always thought it was more of an ale yeast rather than stout
