Hi All,

What is the consensus on water treatment for wine kits? I now have a 6 bottle kit of each of the Winexpert Classic Italian Pinot Grigio and Chilean Merlot. Plan is to use these as a tester and if either are good play it safe and do a 30 bottle kit in the future.

I have access to RO water and water treatments from my beer brewing activities. Is this necessary? Our tap water is very hard but I drink it from the tap with no issues. Do we just need to add a campden tablet to remove chlorine, or blend it 50:50 with RO water.

I could use bottled water which is fine for a 6 bottle kit but might start driving the cost up for a 30 bottle kit in the future. Any advice greatly appreciated.

In Ireland they put chlorine in it so i've always avoided assuming it would kill the yeast and give an odd taste, and used bottled water from Lidl or Tesco. Is that not the case in the UK/Elsewhere?
 
Most places have chlorine still works fine if concerned use a camden tablet but allow 24 hours before you pitch the yeast that what I do with beers
