Just done a brew using Windsor, with OG1053 that stopped at 1017, is this normal or should I'd given it a good rousing, after a day or so. :?
I'd left it in the fermenter under airlock for 10 days

i've never used windsor... do you know what it's attenuation should reach? (it's usually written on the packet if you've still got it)

if it's 73-75% then you're still short as you're currently at 66.8%

give it a rouse with a sanitised plastic/metal spoon if it's been stuck for a couple of days

The current Windsor on sale is performing spectacularly. My IRS stout went from 1.097 to 1.036 in 36 hours and finished at 1.024 so Windsor is certainly capable of attenuating higher than you have achieved . . . . Warm it up . . . FV Temp is not so critical at the end of fermentation as it is at the beginning, and give it a gentle stir . . . It should wake up for you.

I bottled some last night and thrown the rest in a airlocked container with some gelatine, hope bottles will be O.K
The brew had 5500g MO, 500g crystal, 100g cara, 100 choc and 60g roast, could this have had an effect on the high FG??

You are so right Aleman...I used Windsor for the first time ever in my Summer Lightening ...It's gone like the clappers..in fact came thought the airlock twice :rofl:

Three days on and it dropped from 1.049 to 1.012.... :grin: It had a flat head and looked to have stopped so I have racked it off into a secondary FV under airlock to condition before I add Finings :thumb:

Only use windsor for my porter. It works for me every time. But it makes me fart like a mad farting machine. I quite like that but the missus finds it only half as pleasant as i do. Farts are great. :thumb:

Some good finning agent would help with that, remember its the quality of the fart on the quantity
