I'm about to mix a "Samson's Bah Humbug Christmas stout" Kit, it's made by Ritchie's.
I have a Danstar Windsor yeast that I've used before in an Oatmeal stout, (No, not the exact same yeast, another sachet)
Would it be better to use that than the yeast they have supplied??

Probably, yes.....if only due to the fact that you will pitch the correct amount rather than the 6g that is usually supplied with a kit.

I've avoided using Windsor tbh, as it takes a long time to clear down. That said, it is supposed to be a nice 'fruity' yeast when used in an ale.

Unless you are sure the yeast with the kit is a good one then I would go for another yeast.

Windsor is less attenuative than the likes of Nottingham and S-04 so I think it will work quite will in a darker beer.
