wilko's kits

HI iv'e seen somewhere that the wilko's beer kits are just the muntons premium range rebranded. Does anyone know for sure, it looks like they are from a quick google check.
Maybe it will help with the stigma attached as it seems it may be an ok kit made by a decent manufacturer.

Most kits are muntons... even brewferm are actually made by muntons and exported.

The wilcos kits are pretty cool i got a hoppy copper bitter and a bnag of dextrose for a tenner,good stuff i would like to try there two can kits they might be even better

The Wilko kits are definitely made by Muntons but whether they are identical to the other Muntons kits I don't know. I doubt if either Wilkinsons or Muntons would confirm that, but you could try sending them an email.

I did what you said and sent a very poilte email a few days ago, The've just got backto me saying they have produced a new range for wilkinsons and although I may think they are the same they are made to different recipes and are subtly diffrent.
They also add that there the only manufacturer of beer kits in the uk.

I don't think they are the only UK manufacturer as I have had a Ritchies kit and a Hambleton Bard kit although I suppose they might subcontract them to Muntons or a European manufacturer.

I was tempted to buy one of their all malt kits today for £16, instead I bought a Woodforde's all malt kit instead, but next time I go to Wilkos I'll try one of their kits seen as they're made by Muntons
