Yeah - I know it's cheap enough stuff but the tightwad in me hates waste.

Yup, that would work.

Once the pack is open you risk infection if kept, when I use these usually wait for 3 or four dj's that are ready for finings. Get some kwik clear they have little bottles that can keep.

If you mean kwik clear months, if packet finings a day or two.
