Got the choc one for xmas
I've added some crystal and roasted just to freshen it up a bit

Yes I got the choc one for xmas
Put it on yesterday with some added specialty grains' did a small keg size batch so didn't add any extra malt or sugar came out 1.060 so pretty happy with this
Suprised there's not more posts on this beer for that matter the others
Did you get one?

For me these only seem to brew up to 4% abv (from the ones I noticed xmas) and that's a little short for my liking unless on offer. I thought they are more "artisan" in name than nature and look like they could be as much a rebrand or tweak of their existing range than anything really new?.

That's not to say I won't try them at some point during the year when on offer. But like their previous range I'm guessing you'd still have to add additional sugar or more likely malt extract and short fill by maybe a few litres too in order to get the best from them.

I have tried the hoppy with added dme 500g and 30g citra dry hop and the red ale with dme and challenger, the trick is giving them time 2 weeks fv 4 day dry hop 3 day cold crash then at least 2 weeks in pb or bottle, worth the money even with the dme added, Lighthouse was a good one if the still do it

I paid £6 extra for the "Next Day Delivery". It didn't arrive for two days and when it did arrive the box had been split open, repaired with sellotape and a can was badly dented.

TWO complaints to Wilko have resulted in ZERO response! I therefore cannot recommend their delivery system and IF I ever use them again I will drive the 15 miles to Grantham and pick the order up from the shop.

I ordered from Geterbrewed on 30/12/19 and I’m still waiting on it, to be fair to them they replied and it’s Parcelforce who are to blame, six quid for delivery for three packets of hops and still nothing! guess my brew will have zero bitterness and a 300g dryhop!

Just a point Wilko's now charge to have a order delivered to a store for pickup unless it is of a higher value, not sure how much but think it is somewhere near the £30 mark. Not a good move as most people will see it as it gets delivered to stores anyway so why charge for a online order?

Even worse for me as there is no Wilko in Sleaford and my nearest one (Grantham) no longer stocks beer kits or anything else to do with brewing!

Jesus no bubble wrap

No bubble wrap, but plenty of dented cans!

Still not received even an apology never mind a refund! I hope that the parents of Wilko's Customer Services Manager get married soon!

@Dutto
'Bout time you planned ahead me owd duck, since you look like you are planning to be with us for some time to come. athumb..
The Homebrew Company sell bulk DME , a big variety of beer kits, plenty of speciality grains, and a good range of hops , all at very good prices, especially for the DME.
The only drawback is you have to spend £70 to qualify for free P&P , but the stuff usually arrives within 2/3 days of ordering, is usually well packed, and you get a small HBF discount.

..........

I hope to be around thanks! (A mate told me I was too miserable a git to die!)

Thanks for the heads-up on the Homebrew Company. At the moment I'm a bit short on storage space due to moving house and doing everything that SWMBO wants. (We moved at the beginning of October last year and after three months I am still doing things around the house!)

Ah well. No rest for the wicked as they say! :laugh8:

Dont wish to sound like a Troglodite but as far as internet shopping is concerned,Customer service will soon be something only your Granny will remember.

Giant corporations ALLWAYS end up "detached" from the customer,Its not if its when.

Yes the really big corporations don’t give a damn. When you do get contact you will normally be speaking to a ‘bot’. I prefer to use independents.

Er ... as my eldest granny was aged 94 when she died just over 45 years ago, it's actually me who remembers the time before they invented "Customer Services" as a means of putting someone remote from the management to deal with complaints.

Those were the days when a threat to burn down the relevant premises almost always got positive results! clapa clapa

@terrym BTW, I am currently awaiting the delivery of £70.05 worth of Kits etc. The had run out of the 25kg bags of DME but the price was better than Wilko anyway!

Thanks again!

It arrived today. One bag of Beer Enhancer slightly split (trapped between two cans) but otherwise happy with the packaging and delivery.

I now have enough kits, DME and Beer Enhancer to last me until about June! athumb.. athumb..
