After my local Range store ran out of rose wine i decided to give the Wilkinsons Rose wine kit a try. I can find a review on all other Wilko wine kits but not the rose?
Anyway, i followed the instructions to the letter, leaving to ferment and clear a few days longer than suggested, When racking i was surprised the wine was still cloudy, my range kit is usually clear after 4 days. This kit seems to have a much better colour to it than the range kit, but what surprised me most was the taste. Its a very sweet tasting wine which we dont mind, but it dont seem to have the kick that the range kit has. The range wine blows your socks off after 1 glass!!
Now the only thing i didn't do same as the range kit, was to add extra sugar just after fermentation, im sure this step is just to sweeten the wine and not give it extra alcohol content?
Has anyone had a similar experience with this kit?
Im leaving to clear for a few more days, then thinking of adding campden tablets to help it clear, is this advisable?
Thanks in advance.
