Wouldn't mind a 1977 T140 Jubilee Bonnie...

Where is that ?I’ve one of them somewhere too.
We’ve celebrated by getting a week away in Ireland using only 3 days leave. Just discovered as well that theres a brewery with tap room near one of the campsites we are staying at.
Some of us can remember the Coronation on 2nd June 1953; a day remembered with plenty of negative feelings! For those of us old enough to remember the golden jubilee, ….,
Oh dear! What a shame! Never mind!I have a feeling his life of luxury isn't as luxurious as it used to be
(Platinum is 70 years not 75 !)Does anyone know why we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s reign on the 2nd of June THIS year?
As far as I am aware, this date is not the 75th anniversary of anything significant that happened in the UK!
George VI, died on 7th February 1952 and Princess Elizabeth was pronounced Queen by the Accession Committee on 8th February 1952.
The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth was on 2nd June 1953!
So why are we celebrating:
I am genuinely confused!
- 112 Days AFTER the 75th anniversary of when she was declared Queen Elizabeth II? OR
- One year BEFORE the 75th anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II?
Oh, I think it's on the cards. Charlie isn't well liked and is on a different planet anyway, and Bill hasn't got two brain cells to rub together. mind you, he has got teeth!. No I think we can look forward to seeing the demise of that sorry clan within our lifetimes. In fact I'm going to start brewing the ale for just that very occasion. The only time I would celebrate is when they have all disappeared and that won't happen.

Are you saying that when I die that all that I have worked for should go to the state and not inherited by who I chose ?Yep. All of the above is another aspect of what's utterly wrong. All that stuff should be in the hands of the State- ie the people, Not inherited by the members of a single family. The sooner Britain drags itself out of mediaeval serfdom and into the 20th (even the 19th) century, the better.
It's all about Bread and Circuses (Juvenal 2C AD and while it always has been thus it is no more relevant and fortuitous than today. Why celebrate full stop?
Pour yourself a pint and reflect on the daftness of asking daft questions. Are you saying that when I die that all that I have worked for should go to the state and not inherited by who I chose ?
I'll take that as yes, all I have worked for should go to the statePour yourself a pint and reflect on the daftness of asking daft questions.

Keep burning fossil fuels and tourists will come for the weatherThey sit idle while a Buffon ruins the country. It's her government and she does nothing even when she's lied to. They are so divorced from people but pretend to understand what's happening. Tourists come to see the history not the queen so we can keep the buildings just disband the family
