Hi Guys,

New to forum, and previously brewed using bripaks and a couple of Wherry's. Just about to go full AG, but popped into Wilkos and got the last kit for £14.20 so couldnt resist.

I decided to only fill FV to 19 litres, and the OG was 1049.

I will leave in FV for 14 days before transferring to pressure barel.

Does anyone have any further tips to enhance this good kit? I am thinking of spray malt or more hops?

cheers

How did you manage to get a wherry for 14.20 in wilko!

I have wherry on the go right now, not tasted it yet so sorry i don't have have any advice, I was so compelled by the idea of cheap wherry that I had to ask..

It was on the reduced shelf, so gave it a check to see the best before date and it is not until 2013!!

The Wilcko's where i live dont nomally stock it, so must have been old stock.

Dont reckon i will get another like that.

However, i am looking at going to all grain. Got a boiler and now looking at making a mash tun.

big supermarkets often ship out dead stock to a lot of stores TK Maxx style so they reach more potential bargain hunters - I used to work at morrisons and we occasionally got wine kits for the reduced section, despite not stocking them at all. i'd imagine that's what you probably got :)
