roll up roll up,

For you delectation and amusement I have brewed a hybrid beer. 200g+ of hops will have been used by the time the brew is ready to bottle.

If you like the sound of the brew guess the OG & FG of the beer and the closest to the figures gets a free beer delivered anywhere in the UK Mainland & Eire.

good luck!

16/01/2016

1kg light dme
1kg dried wheat extract.
450g golden syrup
500g clear candi sugar

Boiled for 15 mins in 6 litres water

100g moteka 20 mins boils in 2 litres of water
topped up in fv to 21.5 litres

Yeast used MJ american west coast.

A Refreshing hoppy APA hybrid is the plan

UK Mainland and Eire? Leaves me out then!!

Does Japan fit somewhere between those boundaries? Hahaha

Need more info. Mash temp mainly. It's low sugar and grain for the amount of liquid so, without mash temp I can guess 1.041 and 1.013

was a bit slower to start than usual but krausen hit 26 litres in fv - it's now dropped and a rush of bubbles through airlock every 8 secs or so.

not likely to be bottling before 30th Jan so you have a bit of time to get your guesses in :)

At a guess 1.042 start and 1.012 finish,I'm just thinking not all of that golden syrup is going to ferment out.

Well Flash, seems like you have a cunning plan :-)

I've an idea where it will end up as i've used this yeast before. Unlike the MJ belgian ale yeast I used on my previous brew which chewed its way down to 1.004 which is a new low score for me!

I wasn't planning on 9.3% I was expecting around 8% for that bevvy
schtill - it s lujjsh -just had a sneaky tester.

as for the competition brew its bubbling away every 25 secs or so...

got to remove the hop bag tomorrow then add simcoe/amarillo 5 days before bottling, brewing is tough  sigh.

I under guessed. All that mashing EXTRACT. That's what I get for posting while downing a bunch of the brew!!!
